KSB COCONUT COMPLEX

TECHNOLOGY MISSION ON COCONUT SCHEME aided by COCONUT DEVELOPMENT BOARD

The Bank with the aid of coconut development board under the technology mission on coconut scheme has started the Integrated Coconut Processing Unit named KSB Coconut Complex which houses a Copra drier converting 25,000 nuts per day into copra, an coconut oil expelling unit with 10 tonnes installed capacity in two shifts.  The project cost was 2.5 crore. Received subsidy from Rs 35 lakhs from the Coconut Development Board & Govt subsidy 8 lakhs.

Facilities of KSB Coconut Complex
1.     Can process coconuts upto 25000 nuts per day
2.     Expeller of 10 tonnes installed capacity
3.     Coconut Vinegar Unit for Manufacturing vinegar from coconut water.
4.     Coconut chips Unit.
5.     Quality control lab for testing coconut oil to meet agmark quality
specifications and to test coconut cake for fat content.
6.     Weighing bridge of 30 Tonne capacity.

Faciliates better market for coconut farmers in the area by ensuring higher margin and ready payment avoiding middlemen.

Marketing of KSB Kalpasree Coconut Oil
The company has procured Government of India Certification of Agmark for its coconut oil and markets its oil under the brand name KSB Kalpasree as :
1.     Half litre pouch
2.     One litre pouch
3.     500 ml. pet bottle
4.     1000 ml. pet bottle
5.     15 Kg. Cans
It also supplies in bulk to corporate customers The Bank markets the oil through its own outlets and also through Consumer fed, Mithra a co-operative retail out let and through various service co-operative bank outlets.  In order to expand the market further the company is establishing vending machines for selling quality oil with the aid of coconut development board

KSB Coconut complex staff strength
KSB Coconut complex has a staff strength of 33 of which 4 administrative staff  9 skilled labourers in oil mill and drier, 20 skilled labourers for deshelling and other Coconut processing related activities
